Jeremy Horwitz from iLounge claimed that he got one opportunity to test the fifth generation iPad model and this product won’t be available until this October.
As he said, iPad 5 will have similar design to iPad mini and the code will be J72. Also, he said he saw iPhone 5S, with large flash LED and similar design to iPhone 5.
Is it true?
Apple has great reputation in keeping new product secrets. Though after Jobs left the world, there were some rumors that new Apple products have been leaked while Apple is still among the companies who successfully keep the new product features.
Personally I don’t think it’s true but just another eye-catching news for fun. Technology world is kind of boring so editors have to found something to catch people’s eyes and Apple is one good option.

Why I haven’t updated this blog for long time? Because I am developing one cool app which will replace iTunes. Though Steve said that iTunes is like one ice water to those people in hell, I want to say “iTunes sucks”. Maybe iTunes has much better user interface than other Windows application, but its restriction is terrible to those powerful customer like me. Why not Apple introduce two versions: one for those rookie users while another version for professional users.
OK, come back to today’s topic: will next generation iPad mini have Retina screen? One top complain about iPad mini is that it’s not equipped with Retina screen? When I talked this with my friend, he asked me why Apple introduce iPad mini? Or what’s the target customer of iPad mini: price sensitive buyers or people who care more about mobility.
I didn’t see any reason why the target customer will be one reason whether iPad mini will be equiped with Retina screen. Even Appl use iPad mini to attract “price sensitive buyers” from other tablet vendors, Apple still needs to introduce Retina screen in next gen iPad mini or it has no advantage over other brand 7 inch tablet computer.

Macotakara, one Japanese site claimed that new iPod nano will use the new design with camera and home button. And iPod Nano will suport Wi-Fi with iTunes in the Cloud so users can download all music, movies or TV shows which they already purchased before.
This Japanese site also claimed that the 7.85 inch iPad will be called as iPad mini, with the resolution of 1024×768 and A5X dual-core CPU. But it won’t be available next month with new iPhone.
Is it true? I checked with my friends in Foxconn. He told me most of them were believable.

Yesterday I was in San Fransicsco with one of my college classmates who had been working in Nokia for 8 years. He has found one new job in Google and will relocate to San Jose soon.
We discussed about why Nokia failed though they claimed Nokia was one Internet company in 2005. Nokia hasn’t introduced any cool smart phone which can meet customer requirements in mobile internet. Why? Nokia has enough development team to develop any cool mobile device. But Nokia didn’t know to change their thoughts which was formed in feature phone time.
When iPhone appeared, Nokia has done lots of experiments and the conclusion is that iPhone failed in dropping test so it will definitely failed in market. Sound funny? But it is true. Until 2008, Nokia realized they made wrong conclusion so they decided to do something. But in 2008, Nokia had huge organization transformation which greatly impeded the development of new device.
Now you see how important to change your thoughts.

There is one post (http://thenextweb.com/apple/2012/07/10/a-conduit-for-content-how-an-ipad-mini-could-define-the-small-tablet-market/) from MATTHEW PANZARINO which is pretty interesting, so I recommend everyone to read it.
There has been one long time rumor that Apple will introduce 7 inch tablet computer which may be called as “iPad mini”. Someone who doesn’t believe said Steven Jobs had said in one telephone meeting that Apple had done lots of research finding 7 inch tablet computer had terrible user experience so Apple wouldn’t consider it.
Do you remember that in 2003, Steven Jobs also told Walt Mossberg that no one would watch videos on the small screen of iPod? Do you also remember that Tim Cook said that the most important thing he learned from Steven is that to rethink what you have believed to be right.
So, believe me, Apple is developing one 7 inch tablet computer now to penetrate low-end tablet computer.

It has been almost one month that I haven’t updated my blog. My team is developing new version of our iPad conversion software now.
I visited Japan last week and one friend who was reloated to one temporary project in China told me that he believed that he saw iPad mini.
He saw the device in one AUO fab in Kunsan,China. He told me that the device looked like iPod nano, about 7inch and 12mm thickness. AUO engineer called it as “mini Pad” and there is no any Apple logo.
Analyst of Piper Jaffray, Gene Munster, believed that iPad mini sales in Q4 will be 4-6 milion. He believed that Apple will announce iPad Mini before the release of next generation iPhone and the price wil be 299$. So he keeps optimistic about the marketing performance of Apple in tablet computer market.

Apple latest report shows that a lot of hesitatant consumers bought iPad 2 after the launch of new iPad.

So Apple decision to lower the selling price of ipad 2 is correct because it greatly pushes the sales of iPad 2 while have no negative impact on the sales of new iPad.

My source in Taiwan told me that Apple may announce two products in this September: next gen iPhone and iPad mini. The new iPhone will use rear back made of alumnium. One rumor has been widely spreaded that next generation iPhone will be one 4 inch device and the earthphone hole will be moved to the bottom.
About the iPad mini, it’s true Apple is testing 7.85 inch iPad with 1027*768 resolution but it doesn’t mean Apple will release this product.
